Dear Jodie:-

Congratulations on your 8th birthday and wishing many more.  We are all well and hope you are too.  We received Moms letter and were very glad you and Jimmie are doing so well in school.  Don't worry about your low mark in arithmetic we all once in a while fail in some thing or other. so buck up and do better next time.   I'm working over the flower beds  if you were here I'd put you to work.

Jessie sure has a pretty house but hasn't got the yard finished yet   it is hard to get anybody to work.

Sis was up from Corpus the other day.  She said she was coming down to visit you next month and that is about all the news.

I am sending you a couple of dollars for your birthday but don't spend it all in one place --.    Give my love to Pop, Mom, Jimmie and Carol.  Write when you can.

                  With love

                    Grandpa.
