John Shore and Mary Ann (Brandenburg) Shore bought 82 acres of land in 1841 at La Fayette, Illinois. Three daughters and a son grew to adulthood in La Fayette and Wyoming, Illinois (another daughter died in infancy). Toulon is the county seat where births, marriages, deaths, deeds and other documents were recorded.
