Alfred Shore -- of Another Family

The information below is provided to assist future researchers.

Our family's relative, Alfred Shore was born in England in 1835.  He came to America in 1858.  The US Federal Census for 1860 shows him living in Chicago, Illinois with the profession of Upholsterer.  Later he established a Furniture and Upholstery business in Burlington, Iowa.

Shown below is a different Alfred Shore family -- not our relatives.

The family shown below has the same name, by coincidence.  They also lived in Iowa, at Eldon, Wapello County.  This Alfred Shore was born in England in 1832.  The US Federal Census for 1860 shows him as a laborer in Iowa.  In later years he became a farmer with an extensive acreage of land.  Note:  This Alfred Shore is not our relative.

The information is provided here to help our future family researchers to avoid a 'blind alley' in their research.
